No meridian flip turning your equipment upside-down
When German equatorial mounts passes the meridian in south they need to swing the complete telescope around to avoid conflict with the pier (called a meridian flip). This process takes time, reduces accuracy and last but not least turns the telescope upside down leaving the need to adjust eyepiece position and any finder scopes. With the TTS-160 mounting all the sky can be observed with no need to flip anything.
