Easy Transport Fast Setup

One of the main ideas of track the stars is easy transport. The term easy transport covers several things:

  • The mounting must be easy to move physically to the observation location whether this is just outside in the garden or at a remote dark site location.
  • At the observation site the setup of the mounting must be fast and easy.
  • Aligning the mount and starting up observing and imaging the sky must be fast and easy.

All this mean you get more time observing and less time messing with equipment.

How do we do this:

Compact design

Track The Stars TTS-160 mounting is a very compact mounting. The alt-az design means that it has been possible to create a mounting that integrates stability and compactness. The alt-az design has also made it possible to give the mount an optimal shape for transport meaning that the pier and the mounting head fits into two small transport cases.

Easy setup

The unique software of Track The Stars mountings is made to handle any setup angles of the mounting. This means that you can setup the mounting in any angle. Just setup the pier and install the mounting head.

  • There is no need to level the mounting. 
  • There is no need to point the mount towards north.
  • There is no need to polar align the mount.

Easy alignment

After setting up the mounting the alignment is easy and precise. Just point the mounting at two known stars and the alignment is complete – for both visual and photographic observations.

Setting up and aligning the mount can be done in 10 minuttes.
